The story behind this piece

Nwentoma is the Twi word for woven cloth. This design borrows kente's language of strips woven side by side — bands, checks, zigzags and diamonds in gold, green, red and black — and lays it edge to edge across the whole box, with a fine thread texture over the top. An original pattern made in admiration of the weavers of Bonwire, not a copy of any named cloth.
